Banihal places to visit   :

1. Neel Top

Neel Top is one of the beautiful scenic spots sitautated at a distance of 25 kilometers from Banihal town via Chamalvas village and is based at an altitude of about 2000 meters above the sea level and this  beautiful tourist destination is well connected by a mortarble road. Tourists can also visit the place through other alternative route from Magarkot. Tourits can easly hire taxi, cab from Jammu , Ramban and even from Banihal Town to reach this amazing place which is situatated at a distance of 180 kilometers from Jammu and about 55 kilomters from DIstrict Headquarter Ramban. The area has a vast lush green meadows spreading over an area of several kilometers and tourists  can easly have a beutiful glimpses of amazing snow cladded mountain peaks of Pirpanchal Range as well panoramic view of Banihal Town also. There is only one PWD guest House available in the area and a helipad at the tope of the place. The Neel  top has a tremendous tourist potential that needs to be explored fully to boost tourism sector of Jammu and Kashmir and explore the hidden tourism potential of such amazing places.


2. Thandi Chhah

Thandi Chhah is a splendid Tourist desination which is situated at a distance of about ten kilomoeters from the main Town of Bani hal  and well connected for the visitors and tourits by a mortarable road. It is beautiful and attractive tourist spot with amazing climate and natural scenic beauty. The spot is having two beautiful parellel streams  which flow on the either side of the vast attractive meadows. This scenic destination remains the main attration of picnikers and tourists during hot summer season. many schools and tourits come here for a picnic and enjoy the taste of the picturesque natural beauty. 


Similarly there is other scenic meadow of Zaban situated at five kilometers from the National High way from Nowgam(Banihal). It exhibits the panoramic view of village Khairkot in Sanglaab valley from the top of Zaban Hill station which is quite marvellous. Zaban is rich source of a wide variety of wildlife and is a big part of cacaw reserve. This hilly destination is a home of many herbs and shrubs used for the medicinal use.

3. Nilpal Lamber :  

This is another unexplored tourist spot situated at a distance of five kilometers from the railyway station of Banihal. This amazing unexplored hidden tourist spot is bestowed with Spring and streams, meadows sloping in nature, waterfall and a lot of fascinating greenary which makes this spot quite charming and pleasant. This tourist destination is well connected with a mortarble road form the railway station of Banihal. 4. Moh Mangith : 

There are also two twin tourist villages namely  Moh and Mangith situated at a distance of about 44 kilometers from Banihal town and these hilly tourist villages  fall under the Tehsil  Khari just five kilometers away from  Nachlana situated on the Jammu Srinagar National Highway. The twin tourist villages are being visited by the visitors and local people during the summer season  as the place is full of natural beauty and mountains. The uniquness of the place is that multiple families used to live rather whole villages used to live under one roof. The twin tourist villages are culturally close to Kashmir and people over here speak Pahari . Banihal is a  beautiful Hill Town and world famous because it's Jawahar Tunnel connects Kashmir with rest of the country and is called Gate way of Kashmir. This serene place is sorrounded by the snow ladden majestic Mountain peaks of Himalyas and is considered as visitors delight. Banihal Is situated at an altitude of about 5466 feet above the sea level. 

Banihal remains covered with white blanket of snow for a major time of the year and its terrains are quite lofty with scarce vegetation that makes the people of the place prosperous. The average temperature through out the year remains cold and scales between -10 degree celcius to 8  degree celcius and its upper areas remain covered with snow and it melts in lower areas. Banihal Temperature :

The minimum  temperature in Banihal in Summers remains around 18 to 19 degree celcius and maximum temperature goes up to 30 degree celclius. In winters , the minimum temperature drops down to -10 degree celcius and maximum temperature is about 8 degree celcius. March to October is the best time to Visit Banihal.
