Lolab Valley a splendid Himalayan valley popular and worldwide famous is known for its beautiful lush green forests & wonderful meadows spread across nearly 25 kilometers from northeast to southeast differing in breadth from a few yards to about 6 kilometers. Lolab valley is situated in District Kupwara in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, India in its Northwest part & the beautiful valley is about 9 kilometers away from the main city of District Kupwara. It is believed the name of Lolab valley has been named after a famous king called Maharaja Lolo and many renowned poets have referred to it as a true destination and as a " land of love" and beauty because of its unbelievable scenic natural beauty, bubbling springs, and dense pine forests.

The  Lolab valley serves as a home to many wild animals like snow leopard,  Hangul, musk deer, and a Himalayan brown and black bear which remain the main attraction of domestic and international sightseers. It also remains in the focus of tourists because it is considered one of the top camping sites in Kashmir which is quite famous for its egg-shaped appearance with the river Lahwal forming the terrain of this valley covered with fruit Orchards and coniferous trees. It is well-connected and well-developed by the Government of Jammu and Kashmir and is visited by many tourists and travelers every year.

Lolab Valley also known as a land of love and beauty is also famous and popular among visitors and travelers as this is also the resting place of a famous Saint Kashyap Reshi. Travelers and tourists who visit Lolab also visit the resting place of the Famous saint Kashyap Reshi which is located about one kilometer from the village of Lalpur where this saint spent a lot of time of his life in meditation and prayers.

The headquarters of Lolab is located at Sogam and it is said that it was very densely populated a long time ago even when the Kashmir valley was a still lake called Satisar.  This dazzling place is also called as Wadi-e-Lolab or Lolab valley which is oval-shaped due to the above-mentioned facts, the place has ancient and historical relevance that the place of Lolab Valley has a uniquely important place in the tourism sector of the country, and presently it has also become a huge attraction for domestic and foreign tourists and travelers.  

It's an Untold Story :

The Lolab Valley, also close to the famous & amazing Neelam valley, is a combination of three beautiful valleys: Patnai Valley, Brunai, and Kalroos valley. There are large splendid meadows called Nagmarg Meadows which separate Lolab from District Bandipora. The headquarters of Lolab is Sogam town which is very densely populated since a long time ago. Lolab is also the resting place of the famous saint Keshayp Reshi located at a distance of one kilometer from the village of Lalpur. A holy spring called Lavnag is also found nearby which is three feet deep and has crystal clear water. There is another spring called Gauri Spring in this area bearing big religious importance.

HOW TO REACH :

As far as road connectively to this land of love and peace is concerned, it is well connected by road to the Summer capital Srinagar of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir in India. it is situated at a distance of 114 kilometers from Srinagar and takes three and a half hours to reach here.  The journey by road leads through the towns of Sopore and Kupwara. and transport facilities like buses, cabs, taxis, etc are easily available at Srinagar for the Lolab Valley at affordable prices. 

Visitors and tourists can also travel by air and for doing so they have to fly to Srinagar first and then hire a taxi or a cab from Srinagar airport to Lolab valley. The airport is about 90 kilometers away from Kupwara. The there mode of traveling is by Train and the nearest railhead is at Baramullah for Kupwara which is 64  kilometers away from the destination. There are tourist huts and bungalows and many camping sites available for visitors.

The splendid valley of Lolab nestled between Kashmir Valley and Neelam Valley is quite egg-shaped and the terrain of this amazing valley is formed by river Namely Lahwal.
