This park was conceptualized  as one of the integrated center that would support education,  conservation and research activities  with special focus on butterflies as flagship ambassadors of conservation. This project of  park was initiated   by Zoo Authority of  Karnataka in collaboration with   Department of Biotechnology jointly  during the year of 2003 under special master plan and was completed during the year 2007 as well was dedicated to public visits also.  This project is the unique  project in the whole Country of India  and is serving as role model  in the nation. The most of the zoos and parks  in India are using this model as  knowledge hub and plan to replicate.  This lush green park is a home to about  more than forty species of butterflies in vibrant natural habitat. This butterfly park located at Bannerghatta in Karnataka is India's first dedicated butter fly enclosure that  has  many special major components like butterfly garden to sustain local butterfly population,  Research and captive breeding laboratory, a Museum  and a butterfly conservatory  enclosed under poly carbonate roof. 

Bannerghatta Butter Fly Park is spread over an area of of 7.5 acres of land  which has a butterfly trail  of about 1 kilometer length.  The butter fly trail which is established over an area of five acre garden leads the visitors  to an advanced designed  three dome structure  housing the conservatory , Museum  and the multi Media center.

3. Butterfly Conservatory of Goa

This Small Butterfly conservatory is a small butterfly sanctuary and garden  spread over an area of about 4000 square meters and is referred as heaven  for Goa's Native butterflies which offer a serene  escape  into Nature.  It is 5 kilometers of Ponda District in Goa  and is home to more than 133 species of free flying  butterflies in a small patch  of jungle. It's labour  of love for the owners  and worth look if one is visiting nearby spice plantations. Butterfly season is from August to  November  and each butterfly species  has its own preferences  when it come to the plants, on which lay eggs. 4. Sikkim Himalayan Butterfly Park :

Sikkim is a home to around half of India's 1400 butterfly  species including  the endangered  Kaiser-i- Hind, the yellow  Gorgon and Bhutan glory but however  butterflies in Rangrang, Sikkim, India   are threatened by habitat loss due to urbanization, climate  change and the introduction of non native plants.  

This  Wonderful Himalayan Butterfly Park is  nestled in the foot hills of Himalayas in Rangrang, Sikkim India is spread over an area of 29 hectares  reserves a public building  that aims to increase the butterfly population in Sikkim  and educate people  about the butterflies  in the region.   The reserve  includes  a landscape Park,  Interpretation pavilions, Butterfly enclosures,  a research center,  an entrance pavilion and an observation tower.  Sikkim is considered a home to a diverse range of wildlife  and blue Duke  is the State Butterfly of Sikkim  with it blue colour representing  the Himalayan Mountains. Sikkim Himalayan Butterfly park is very famous among the tourists  for its diverse range of butterflies which are an enchanting experience for wildlife lovers and enthusiasts. 

5. Butterfly Park Pune 

It is also one of the most beautiful butterfly parks in India located in the Pune University campus. This butterfly park is a home to over 160 species of butterflies  offering peaceful environment to observe them closely. Rajiv Gandhi Zoological  Park Butterfly Park, Pune  is extremely amazing  and dedicated butterfly garden that provides tourists and travelers  an opportunity to explore  over about 65 species which make it a great spot for nature lovers and children.
