Displaced Kashmiri migrants deserve New Employment package.
Synopsis :
Kashmiri Pandits were main victim of Pakistani sponsored terrorsim and islamic fundmentalism that erupted in entire kashmir Valley in 1990 and led their forceful exodus & suffered huge target killings at the hands of Pakistan sponsored Terrorism. They took refuge in their own country in Jammu, Udhampur and other parts of the country after leaving behind immovable properties worth crores. They are still living a deplorable life in camps and non camps in Jammu and other parts of the country without proper basics amenities and permenent employment generation avenues. It is worth while to mention here that more than five lakh kashmiri Pandits were forced to leave the valley in 1990, they had to loose their about 20 thousand permanent Governent jobs simultaneously which are either filled illegally or snatched from kashmiri Displaced migrants. In this way not only their permanent livelihoods were snatched but also their immovable assets, , thus were completely rendered homeless and bankrupt at the roads Jammu and other parts of country in a pathetic conditions.
Kashmiri Displaced migrants had to carry out a big struggle here in Jammu for seeking permanent livilehood for their educated unemployed youth for which they had to stage protests, Dharnas and even went on hunger strikes. It was all due to their concerted efforts and struggle, Government of India in 2008 and 2009 carved a employment package under the name and style " Prime Minister's Employment package" which was accorded to this Dispalced community in the shape of six thousand posts with the condition to work in kashmir Valley by introduction of one more clause in it which included bond system i.e not seeking permanent transfer outside Kashmir valley. Accordingly about six thousand posts in different Government Departments were advertised and notified for the kashmiri Displaced migrants in 2008/09 and accordingly these posts were filled with great hardships and these PM package employees are working in Valley in every odd situation with utmost honesty and dedication since then.
Rising unemployment in 2026 :
The rising unemployment problem now among the displaced migrant youth living in exile has caused great disappointment and resentment among the Displaced community because no employment package was given to the community since 2008/09 despite passing more than a 14 years. The educated Dispalced youth is in big desperation and frustration which is a serious matter needs to be tacked on priority basis without further delay. The Governent of India despite passing more than fourteen years has not accorded or advertised any new employment package for displaced migrant youth as the population of over all community has increased a lot in these 37 years. The employment rate among the displaced migrant community is very high and with the result, the displaced educated youth feels greatly disappointed and frustrated on this front and there is also brewing great resentment among the community because no employment package was given to the community since 2008/09.
It is important to mention here that displaced educated youth living in forceful exile are in desperation which is a serious matter and needs to be tackled on priority basis without further delay.
Conclusion:
Keeping in view the overall position of displaced migrants living in a deplorable and pathetic conditions in Camps and non camps in Jammu, Udhampur and other parts of the Country as well huge increase in its population, Government of India need to take a humantarian view of this grave unemployment problem by according a special employment package of at least ten thousand posts for educated displaced youth.
It is also urged that social recruitment drive in various camps and non camps like it was previously done by absorbing the educated youth on spot in different Central and Union territory departments to tackle the unemployment among the Dispalced community that has suffered irreparable losses due to forceful migration from Kashmir Valley in 1990 at the hands of Pakistan sponsored Terrorism.
It is also the demand from the community side that one job to per family of displaced community in exile be provided in order to provide solace to the educated displaced youth because of high rise in unemployment in more than two decades which is the paramount need of the hour as well a big demand of the displaced community. Governent of India need to carry out onspot recruitment drive in all migrant camps and non camps in different Government streams so that onspot appointment is made instantly without wasting time in long recruitment process like past in order to avail the educated unemployed youth an opportunity to serve the society and eke out their livelihood honorably.
