Kashmiri Pandits still  face political discrimination :

More than five lack Kashmiri Pandits who used to live a healthy and prosperous life in kashmiri Valley before 1989 at their respective native places in different Districts  along with their rich culture, ethos and thousand years old civilization. Kashmiri Pandits have become the most targeted  victim of islamic terrorism that entered the valley on the sponsorship of Pakistan and spread like a fire through out the valley in which countless local youth fell prey to their propganda and anti India movment.

The Pakistan sponsored terrorism spread in valley like a fire  in 1989 followed by killing of mostly patriotic indians and Kashmiri Pandits become the mostly the easy target. A complete rein of terror and fear was created among this micro minority community and most of Kashmiri Pandit stalwarts were gunned down by the terrorists whose only motive was to merge Kashmir with Pakistan and Kashmiri Pandits became their soft target.

I have my self seen the whole scenario of terrorism period of 1989 & 1990 closely and how a fear physocosis situation  among the Kashmiri Pandits in North, South and Central kashmir was created in that era  from all the corners from Pakistan sponsored terrorists in which a major junk of local people  were also involved  which led them with no other alternative than to save their lives, honour, patriotism and has to forcefully leave their homes and hearths in a hurry to take shelter at the safer places like in udhampur, Jammu and other parts of the country.

It would not be out of place to mention here that they could not carry anything with them while leaving the valley and were completely bankrupt at the time leaving behind movable and immovable assets worth crores for saving their lives, religion and Nationality which was their prime object  at that time. This displaced community after migration got dispersed and is presently still living in dilpaidated condition in Camps and Non camps in Jammu, Udhampur, Punjab, Delhi, Mumbai and other parts of India and passing their days of life with this this hope that one day they will return and rehabilitate back in their ancestral roots from where they were uprooted after passing more than thirty seven years.

The forceful of migration of Kashmiri Pandits have put a big question mark on the credibility of Kashmiryat and secularism as well a big blot on political clause who never in these thirty seven years talked seriously about the return and rehabilitation of kashmiri Pandits back in valley with honour and dignity despite fully knowing that what happened with this minority of Kashmir. These political parties never bothered to do anything practical for them in terms of their betterment, upliftment and political involvement as well never bothered to raise and project their genuine demands in legistures for their early resuluton except a good lip service which yielded no tangible result.

It is important to mention here that would not be after abrogrstion of article 370 and 35 A in August , 5,  2019 and under new  re- orgisation Act of Jammu and Kashmir, Kashmiri Pandits were given political representation by way of nomination of two Legislators by the central Government so that their nominated representatives could raise their voice and project their problems in the Assembly for their betterment and resetllment but unfortunately till date no political representation has come in force in a practical. The two nomination seats were deliberately blocked and put under litigation to add more miseries and woes to this displaced community and the parties responsible for such act is known to every one. It is now crystal clear that some political parties don't want Kashmiri Pandits to have their political representatives in the legislative assembly and that is why they have now taken this matter to court of law. It is sure and every one has a sanguine hope sooner or later Dispalced Kashmiri migrants would get the justice at hands of Hon'ble High court where the matter is subjudice  and would have soon  their representatives in the assembly

Conclusion :

More than seven lakh kashmir Pandits have are living in a forceful exodus for last more than thirty seven years in Camps and non camps in Jammu, Udhampur ànd other parts of the country still un-setlled, in mental and financial trauma with out any permanent rehabilitation and political representation. They have also multiple  problems in exile like unemployment among the educated youth, serving on meager monthly cash relief  which needs immediate enhancement, insufficient accomodation, retrieval and restoration of their illegally occupied lands in kashmir Valley from land grabbers, better provisions of pure drinking water, electricity and sanitation  in camps in Jammu.

These all problems can only be highlighted and addressed if they get  political representation in legislative Assembly and we urge all  those political parties who have legally blocked this political nomination in legal way may please allow the Government of India to nominate our representatives forwith for sake of justice and equity and advise them not to  play petty politics on this hapless displaced  community which has already suffered an irreparable loss and made countless sacrifices for the Nation and motherland.
