Siyad Baba's untold Story : 

Siyad Baba is a  famous, historical, and religious place devoted to local gaiety & the waterfall is one of the biggest waterfalls in North India,  known for its amazing scenic beauty. This famous waterfall is situated in the village Talwara of District Reasi of Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir, India & it is about 104 kilometers from District Headquarters Jammu. Every year pilgrims and tourists visiting Mata Vaishno Devi also prefer to visit this wonderful place to see the amazing waterfall of Siyad Baba. Schools and colleges often come here for picnics. This waterfall is situated on the river Chenab in District Reasi and is erected at a height of about 466 meters which descends approximately 100 feet thus giving this splendid waterfall a spectacular view and enjoys the status of one of the biggest waterfall of North India. 

Siyad Baba Religious relevance : 

People have a firm belief that the water and earth of this area have medicinal value & the soothing balm of earth found around the holy temple of Siyab Baba is used to treat many skin diseases. Hence people from different parts of Jammu and Kashmir in large numbers throng to this place for curing their ailments. It is also believed that bathing here near a waterfall is an exhilarating experience and applying wet earth to the body cures many skin diseases. People after recovering from their ailments come especially here to pay obeisance. The locals and visitors have been enjoying the beauty of Siyad Baba Waterfall for many decades

Unfortunately on 15 July 2017, seven tourists died and more than 30 others got injured because the boulders and other debris fell on them from a height of about a hundred meters after this episode, some restrictions were placed in place for some time by the local administration 

Siyad Baba Tourist Place  : 

The best time to visit this delightful destination is between July to October when the climate remains quite pleasant and a large number of tourists and pilgrims also visit here in winter to have an icy dip. The condition of the place is now quite poor and the waterfall is losing its glory for want of repair and renovation so that tourists and pilgrims visit here in large numbers to enjoy the natural beauty of the place and see the splendid waterfall which is the biggest waterfall in North India.

Siyad Baba waterfall is the biggest waterfall in North India standing at an elevation of 466 meters that descends from over 100 feet making it a wonderful view. It is located on the river Chenab in District Reasi of Union Terriority of Jammu and Kashmir in India.

Every year a large number of tourists and pilgrims from different corners of the country and abroad visit here throughout the year to have a spectacular view of it. The best time to visit here is July to October. Many tourists and travelers make this a part of their adventure tourism and many love to visit here during winter to have an ice dip. Tourists and travelers visit here in the daytime to enjoy the spectacular view of this amazing waterfall and pleasant weather. They usually return by evening to District Headquarters Reasi or Katra city for night haltings as there are no adequate arrangements for staying in the area. In Reasi Town and Katra city, first-class hotels, restaurants, and shopping malls are available for the visitors

This splendid tourist destination is situated at a distance of 53  kilometers from Reasi Town, 109 kilometers from Satwari Airport Jammu towards the south via National Highway 144 & about 106 kilometers from River Tawi after crossing the Katra and Vaishno Devi. It is located at about 30 kilometers distance from Katra Town via NH 144(National Highway) and takes about an hour to reach here from Katra Town. Taxis, Cabs, Buses, etc are easily available from Jammu, Reasi, and Katra for tourists at affordable rates.

District Reasi is situated on the Bank of River Chenab and it was a component of the Bhimgarh Kingdom established by  Bhim Dev in the ninth Century. The District of Reasi is blessed naturally with rich tourist sites of all types for tourists and travelers. Reasi District possesses places for historical, excursion, religious, adventure, culture, and many other types of tourism.  The other top sights to visit in Reasi are  Shri Mata Vaishno Devi  Shrine, Shiv Khori Shrines,  Baba Dhansar,  Baba Aghar Jitto Ji, Ziarat Baji Ismail  Sahib near Bharakh, Sh. Dera  Baba Bhanda Bahadhur Ji, Salal Power Project, Bhim Garh Fort, Chenab River VIew, etc. The climate remains pleasant over here throughout the year. 

Siyad Baba  Accommodation  : 

Siyad Baba is a beautiful place to visit near Katra and visitors can get a beautiful view of the High waterfalls here and enjoy the journey among the gorgeous picturesque mountains.

As far as accommodation for visitors and travelers is concerned, there are no hotels,  restaurants, cafes, etc available nearby place but visitors and tourists generally plan a day trip here and return in the evening to Reasi for night stays which is about only 40 kilometers away from the place. The visitors and pilgrims generally camp for some time near the temple and enjoy a lot during their stay period. 

  Opinion :  

The concerned Government authorities of Jammu and Kashmir must develop such amazing natural tourist and devotional unexplored destinations of Jammu Province fully and properly by raising adequate infrastructure there like construction of huts, tourist bungalows, hotels, cafes, tourist Huts, etc. so that it gives a big flip to the economy of  UT of J&K  as well generate livelihood for local population over there. Every year Tourists and Hindu pilgrims from different parts of India and abroad visit many scenic tourist and Pilgrim places in District Readi including this amazing natural devotional and one of the biggest waterfalls in North India Siyad Baba to pay obedience by taking a bath under this incredible waterfall.

They also enjoy the natural scenic beauty of the Siyad Baba destination which has a lot of natural scenery and mesmerizing nearby attractions that touch the soul and give calm and peace to the minds of visitors
