Dudu is a village and falls under the jurisdiction of the Municipality in District Udhampur of Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, India & The tourist town is located about 100 kilometers from the district Headquarters of Udhampur and it takes about 4 hours to reach there. It is also well connected to other places in Jammu and Kashmir by NH44 and Ram Nagar Road. 

Jammu to Basantgarh Distance : 

The distance from Jammu to Dudu is about 161 kilometers and is about  5-and-a-half-hour hours drive. The nearest railway station to Dudu is Jammu(161 Km) and Udhampur railway station (100 Km). Basant Garh is about 18 kilometers from Dudu. Jammu to Basantgarh Distance is about 179 kilometers and takes about 6 hours to reach here from Jammu city. 

The area has beautiful natural spots which are worth visiting including waterfalls, natural vegetation, pine trees, deodar trees, and mountain ranges, and it is a complete tourist circuit.  One can enter from Ram Nagar  Side from a place called Roun Domail located at Dhar Road near Bye Pass Road of  National Highway 1A or visitors or tourists can also enter from the Chenani Side of National Highway 1A and travelers can reach Dudu Basant Garh from both the sides 

It is advised that adventure-loving visitors and travelers who want to scale the distance in a short time can prefer the Ram Nagar link as the road is mostly fair weather and visitors can enjoy the dumpy drive through such roads and it is about 70 kilometers drive to reach Basantgar. The entire journey to Basantgarh will remain through woods and beautiful hilly terrains and the area that falls in between is Kulwanta having lots of woods and forest ranges,  Chatriari (waterfalls and Hills), Majouri with scenic terrains and green patches, Gandhtop, a peak with temple and area to relax and enjoy and Shivgali bearing lots of woods, dense forests, water flows, and snowbound area having two temples. It is also the dividing point for the Basantgarh situated at a distance of ten kilometers from here and the Dudu areas are sub-divisions &  are blessed with idyllic natural beauty and splendid mountain views.

As far as Hotels and Accommodations for visitors and tourists are concerned, a Government forest hut with a couple of rooms is available at Hilltop on a corner of Basantgarh and Dudu. But at present easily  Home stay arrangments are the possible option available here for visitors and travelers in all sub-areas of the sub-division. 

The local people of the area are quite social and hostable and play a key role in making all guests and tourists feel at home by offering them the best available homestay options  & offering them a real-time unique experience of life in these areas. Similarly, Likewise, Dudu is a beautiful place that is situated 500 meters upward from the Tawi River and falls within the jurisdiction of Tehsil Latti Marothi in Chennai, District Udhampur. It has amazing scenic beauty and remains a point of attraction for devotees because of the ancient Vasuki Naag Temple and other scenic spots.  

Dudu Basantgarh unexplored  : 

After analyzing and thoroughly researching the area of Dudu Basantgarh, it can be concluded that  Nature has blessed this area with utmost beauty and attraction but what is more, required to be done is to develop adequate tourist infrastructure and other basic facilities including better road connectivity, etc.  The first and foremost thing that is required to be done is that the Government should improve the condition of the circular road of Dudu Basantgarh via Chennai or Ramnagar from  District Headquarters Udhampur and also extend the road connectivity to above mentioned best tourist places of Dudu Basantgarh  so that more and more tourists get attracted to visit  Dudu Basantgarh valley 

The second thing that needs to be done is the creation of a Separate Tourism Development  Authority to explore new possibilities for Tourism Development in the Dudu Basangarh area besides nurturing existing tourist locations. If all these immediate measures are taken on a priority basis by the government of Jammu and Kashmir, the day will not be far away when Dudu Basantgarh will become a big tourist Hub which in return will surely create new income and employment generation avenues for the unemployed and educated youth.
