Another popular tale revolves around *Dulla Bhatti*, a folk hero who lived in Punjab centuries ago & he  was a kind-hearted outlaw who helped poor girls escape forced marriages and arranged their weddings, even giving them gifts like sugar and even  People still throw sweets like gur (jaggery) and popcorn into bonfires on Lohri, symbolizing wishes for prosperity and sweetness in life

It is important to say that a unique aspect of Lohri is its connection to Agriculture and nature & the  festival marks the end of winter solstice, signaling longer days and the onset of spring-like weather. Farmers celebrate the harvest of rabi crops like wheat and mustard, offering thanks to nature &  Lohri also kicks off preparations for weddings and new beginnings, with people singing traditional songs (bolis) and dancing around bonfires.
