Kashmiri Pandits seek Role of all Political parties in their Return & Rehabilitation :
Kashmiri Pandits a minority community of Kashmir Valley is living in a forceful exile in Camps, non Camps in Jammu and other parts of India still in a pathetic and deplorable conditions & their forceful exodus has now crossed more than 37 years and they are still far away from their native places in Kashmir.
The community is still unsettled, facing countless problems in the exodus on many fronts like one of the most important issue of their is honorable return and rehabilitation back to Valley with honour and dignity that is still awaited for want of tangible and concrete Return & rehabilitation policy which is a matter of serious concern and agony. The displaced community of about seven lakhs is still out of valley which puts a big question mark on all the political parties who have never bothered seriously to think about their welfare and rehabilitation back in valley with honour and dignity in these 37 years of their exodus.
Many socio political activists and community leaders of this minority of Kashmir have been raising their genuine issues time timely for last more than thirty 37 years but all in vain. Their main issue of permanent return and rehabilitation back in valley with honour and dignity is still a distant dream for them because of non seriousness and negligence shown not only by the previous Governments at the helm of affairs but also by all the political parties of Jammu and Kashmir who never bothered honestly to raise their voice or made any concerted effort in this direction for their permanent return & rehabilitation in these 37 years of their forceful exile period.
All these political parties always only say that Kashmir is incomplete without Kashmiri Pandits and raise hue and cry always about secularism but where does their secularism go when it is often talked about Kashmiri Pandits in practicality . It is also a big irony that during the time of every election, these political parties approach Kashmiri Pandits in camps, non camps and at every scattered place in Jammu and other parts of the country where they are living temporary in pathetic condition for their vote and support.
They also deliver big lectures about the return and rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandits and speak big things about Kashmiryat and secularism but as soon as elections are over, they never turn towards Displaced Kashmiri Pandits nor highlight their plight in exile vigorusoly at any forum or legislative Assembly which proves their double standards and mindset towards this micro minority displaced community.
These political parties have neither protested or stagged any protest for the welfare of this internally displaced minority of Kashmiri Valley in these 37 years nor have done any thing tangible for settlement of this uprooted community which puts great aspersions on their credibility and their Kashmiryat. They must also raise the genuine demands of Kashmiri Pandits in exile concertedly and try to get them addressed and show some courtesy towards this minority community who suffered the most due to Pakistan Sponsored terrorism and anti social elements in 1990.
Kashmiri Pandits still appeal to all the political parties of Jammu and Kashmir to come forward and discharge their assigned role in return & rehabilitation of Seven Lakh Kashmiri Pandits uprooted by Pakistan sponsored terrorists and anti nationals in 1990 from Kashmir Valley, their ancestral place in paving a smooth way in this direction.
This displaced community has suffered irreparable losses after their forecef exodus in 1990 on count of their immovable properties which include their ancestral houses, orchards, lands, trees etc but despite passing more than. 37 years, their lands are still under the clutches of land grabbers and anti social elements despite immovable Property Act 1997 in place nothing tangible action has been seen on ground to retrieve and restore their lands illegally occupied by land grabbers. It is also appealed to Governent of India to conduct a high level enquiry in the land embazelment of Kashmiri Migrants which would surface big names and their involvement in the migrant land grabbing.
The community also appeals the Prime Minister and Home Minister of India to formulate a concrete return and rehabilitation policy for permanent settlement of Kashmiri migrants back in valley with honour and dignity after taking on boat the community leaders as their exile period has crossed more than three decades and they are still struggling hard in exile for their survival and permanent settlement. They also urge Governent of India to nominate two Members of Legislative Assembly under new reorganization act of 2019 to end their political discrimination for which the displaced community is waiting eagerly since long.
Conclusion :
The Kashmiri Pandit community remains deeply disappointed with the political leadership of Jammu & Kashmir because after 37 long years since their forceful exodus, they had hoped for sincere efforts toward their safe, dignified return and rehabilitation. Instead, they see empty promises, political point-scoring, and a lack of seriousness from most of the Political parties. & this neglect has only deepened their sense of betrayal and alienation.
It is pertinent to mention here that the wounds of 1990 remain raw — loss of homes, livelihoods, identity, and security. Yet, the political discourse often sidelines their genuine concerns, treating their return as a *token agenda* rather than a humanitarian imperative. Parties have *failed to deliver concrete policies*, adequate compensation, or a secure environment for their comeback. For a community that once thrived in the Valley’s cultural mosaic, this indifference is painful.
Their disappointment is understandable and justified and Without trust, safety, and purposeful action, no displaced person can imagine returning home. Over all it can be said that it is honest and bounden duty of every political party of Jammu and Kashmir as well of the Government at the helm of affairs to pave a an early way for return and rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandits back in valley with honour and dignity by taking this serious issue with Governent of India till it is lead to its logical conclusion to restore Secularism and Kashmiriyat back to its prestine glory which is incomplete without Kashmiri Pandits.
