Bael or Bilva (Aegle Marmelos) is one of the most useful fruit tree in India which has a high nutritional value of its fruits. This medicinal fruit possesses many medicinal values because the parts of Bael like stem, leaves, bark , roots and as well it's fruits have most important uses. This leaf of Beal should be from insects or pests or any woven thread made by any insect or having excreta of any bird. It is believed that mounting Bael single leaf on the Lord Shiva's Lingam, one will directly obtain an abode of Lord Shiva.

Medicinal significance  : 

As far as it's medicinal use is concerned, fruit pulp of the Bael is used as medicine against diarohoea and dysentery as well as a sharbat. It possesses carotene & vitamin C and hence it is a good source of Vitamin A. So far as it's pulp is concerned that possesses rich source of Vitamin B and hence its consumption increases the loss of appetite and weight. Pulp of Bael tree is also used to cure sore in throats, development of cataract, swollen nose etc. it also prevents gynecological disorder and bitter pungent juice from the leaves of mixed with honey is given for reducing mucous discharge from nose and throat. It has more one benefit like it cures constipation and ripe Bael fruit is found to be the best laxatives.

Bael tree is found in Shivaliks of Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana and west Bengal. Bael tree is normally grown in variety of soils but however a well drained sandy loam soil is believed to be the best for Bael cultivation but it can also be grown in swampy, alkaline and stony soils. 

It is important to submit that tropical climate with hot and dry summer has been found to be the best for its growth. It can also grow well at a low temperature and also in arid and Semi Arid regions of India with low rainfal, low atmospheric humidity, high vapour deficient saline soil, poor water holding capacity are suitable for its growth and development.
