Sinthantop a  Picturesque scenic Place : 

Sinthan Top like other tourist destinations of the Union Territory of  Jammu &  Kashmir is one of the most popular & less known tourist attractions with an amazing hilltop view with natural beauty which is often visited by Tourists who admire enjoy the view of verdant greens and adjoining Hills. The destination connects Kashmir Valley with Jammu Province through Kishtwar.

SinthanTop is situated at a height of about 12500 feet above sea level and remains covered with snow for most of the year it is located on the Anantnag-Kokernag section of NH 244 and about 80 kilometers from Kishtwar Town and 130 kilometers south of Srinagar, 73 Kilometres from District Headquarter Anantnag and 48 Kilometres from Kokernag. Most of its part lies on the side of the Kishtwar District of Jammu Province.

                    Daksum To Sinthan Top

From the mountain top, the snow-covered peaks look simply amazing, and taking a walk around the location or clicking some awesome pictures. The destination is fast growing as one of the top tourist destinations in Kashmir which are around 37 kilometers of snaky and uphill drive from another amazing tourist location called Daksum which offers an adventurous journey. 

This spot is emerging as the best for mountaineering, trekking, and skiing but there is no local population in the area but shepherds from adjoining beautiful areas like Kokernag, Duksum, and Achabal as well tourists visit here and stay overnights in tents.

Sinthantop  Places nearby  to Visit   : 

This wonderful destination is easily accessible from the summer capital of Union Territory of J&K -Srinagar almost 4-5 hours drive by car. The other beautiful tourist locations which fall en route are Kokernag, Dacksum, and Achhabal where the inflow of tourists remains at maximum,. There are proper hotels, restaurants, and Tourist reception centers available in these resorts. 

There is a spot called 360 degrees View, from where one can see both the areas of the Jammu and Kashmir Divisions this spot in itself is a great resting place for people traveling from Srinagar to Kishtwar or Doda and back and it is also the South East end of Bring valley commonly known as the Golden Crown of Kashmir. 

Sinthantop Festival : 

Every year Government of Jammu and Kashmir has started organizing Tourism festivals at such splennded tourist resorts for boosting and promotion of tourism sector in Jammu & Kashmir which is its backbone. This year also two days Sinthantop Festival was also organized here in which more than twelve thousand Tourists from different parts of the country and abroad participated. 

The event was organized by the department of Tourism of Jammu & Kashmir in close coordination with District administration Kishtwar, Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art Culture and Languages. The two days event witnessed many Cultural and adventerue activities which are enjoyed and appreciated by visiting guests and tourists. 

The most popular activities in event were paragliding, Tug of war, Snow bound activities, musical fiesta ,camping etc. This amazing high altitude tourist destination is becoming now hub of tourists because it is also the gate way to Kashmir from Kishtwar District .

Sinthantop Snowfall : 

The winter season here starts from October to Febuary and during this period a heavy snowfall occurs here and the entire Pirpanjal Range of Sinthantop gets covered with a magical snowfall and gives it a look of wonderland. The Sinthantop Kishtwar Road sometimes gets blocked due to heavy snowfall which is being cleared by the concerned department quickly. Sinthantop festival is also held here in winter season every year. to boos and promote the destination for tourists. This magnificent tourist place also witnesses snowfall during summer season and it's upper hillreaches remain snow capped through out the year that fascinates the visitors and tourists .

Best Time to Visit Sinthantop : 

The best time to visit the Sinthan top is between April and September in Kishtwar and it becomes inaccessible in the winter months due to heavy snowfall. The nearby Sinthan Maidan about 24 kilometers is also becoming a big hub for trekking, mountaineering, and skiing as well as great family picnics with the activities of horse riding and paragliding on offer. 

The new highway is well built and secures almost effeffortsat taking you to the top High risk of a rock slide. The location is quite hilly with tough terrains which remain quite often covered with fog and mist but utmost care has to be taken while driving uphill the weather around the area is awesome and gives a soothing touch to the soul.

Tourists and visitors often visit this place in the daytime & come back before evening. They make their night stays at the nearby tourist locations of Kokernag, Duksam, and Achabal where the proper adequate arrangements of Hotels, restaurants, and Tourist reception centers are easily available at affordable prices for the tourists. This being quite a hilly and adventurous spot does not have any suitable arrangements of hotels, restaurants, etc for the night stays due to tough hilly terrains that usually are snow-capped even during the summers and the climate nearby is quite cool and pleasant. 

The adventurous tourist destination of Sinthantop needs to be developed with a complete tourist infrastructure to attract domestic as well as global tourists which will surely improve the economy of J&K as we have tremendous tourism potential in J&K that needs to be explored and developed properly includinunexploreded also.
